Sebastian Frederick Mueller has studied Industrial and Strategic Design at State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart, ENSCI Les Ateliers in Paris and Aalto University in Helsinki.
 
He worked for Nokia Design Strategy and as a research assistant at Köln International School of Design (KISD).
 
In 2011 he established mueller goranko design consultancy together with Jewgeni Goranko.
 
Through his studies in Stuttgart and Paris, with mentor designers, such as Francois Azambourg and Partick Jouin, and his work for the product design office Jehs+Laub in Stuttgart, Sebastian gained a deep understanding of materials, shape and the production process.
 
During his later work for Nokia Design Strategy and his studies at Aalto University in Helsinki he started to link his expertise in product design with the fields Service Design and Interaction Design.
 
Together with Nokia Research Center Sebastian Frederick Müller developed design concepts for the interaction between user and intelligent products and services.The smart companion concept was investigating technological possibilities and linking them with user needs to meaniful scenarios and designs interacton.
 
Before he has established mueller goranko design consultancy, Sebastian worked as a research assistant at Köln International School of Design (KISD) from 2009-2010, where he was supervising multidisciplinary cooperation projects between design institutions, such as Konstfack, and the Politecnico di Milano. Fruits of this work are awarded concept design projects, such as Piezo Shower (2nd Prize Salone Satellite Award 2010).
 
Already during early conceptional projects, such as the Good and the Evil, his main focus was the exploration of usability and the interaction between user and product. In 2010 parts of Sebastians conceptual design work got exhibited at Biennale International Du Design in St.Etienne.
